The dance of Water derives from the Ballet “Lijiang River Sentiment” The ballet’s story is based on a Guangxi Province folk tale of love between a mountain and river spirit two elements that make the Li River famous for the quintessentially Chinese quality of its beauty. The dance takes at the small spring that is the river’s origin. A water spirit contemplates her reflection and revels in sheer joy at the beauty of her surroundings.
