On September 11 I had been in America for 19 months, I was about to receive my residence permit, I had survived the dislocation of my journey from China, outlasted the homesickness for my mother and sister - my teachers and friends.

I had come to love America, relax in the openness and generosity of the country whose big heart has taken in the world… That was now my country too…
On September 11 I sat on my bed and watched on the television as the world struck back…

Watched the smoke black sky in New York and the anguished people roaming hollow streets and waiting for days outside hospitals to look for people who had vanished… Thousands of innocent people lost in a huge silence now, bodies lost, lives lost, only the names remain…

I asked myself why?
Why the people in the world try so hard to hate each other?
Why such anger that makes people kill other innocent people?
Is this human behavior?
We know one thing - that peace will not drop from heaven - we need to unite to struggle against terrorism - unite to fight for peace

As a dancer I know what I should do…
