When I was a dance student, my father was a leader at the Lin Xiang Iron Mine. Here I am vacationing.

I moved to Beijing in 1992, I lived in a tiny, dark room in the basement of the China Song and Dance Company

but my heart felt bright, because I was on the right direction to my dance art.

Government Of China. I was a friend of Wang Kueng and used to visit her for dinner at her home in Beijing

My Dance Collection was performed in Beijing in 1993, and I felt it was a most

important new beginning. I will always continue to make progress in my dance

Yunnan is a beautiful province. It is the home of 24 different ethnic peoples. I sit in front of a house built in the style

of the Ji-Ruo people. I have visited many places in Yunnan that have opened my eyes to new dances.

 

I have traveled a lot in China during the 1990's in pursuit of my dance dream

Mr. Li Yaoxian, a General and the former leader of the Song and Dance Company of the Air Force of China. He is a good friend of

master Zhangke and they often came to see me and give me good ideas for my dance work in Beijing

In the summer of 1999 I visited my father’s family at the village of Dachengzhao

in Henan province. It was the first time I visited there, and I felt I had come home.

In 2006 I came back to China for the first time since leaving for America. I went to Dachengzhao again to visit my Aunt

who is my father's beloved old sister. Because of her I have learned the deep roots of Chinese folk dance
